What comes next?

Well, this newsletter for one.

What comes next?

I’d intended to start a newsletter here oh… 2 years ago or so. Right now seems like a great time to revisit this idea, what with the any-minute-implosion of Twitter.

One of the most useful things for me about that bird app has been using it for my reading practice. I recently learned that bell hooks read three to five books A DAY. I’ll never be able to match bell hooks in reading, but I do read a lot and over the years have done tweet-threads of whatever I’m reading.

For me, it’s been a way for me to take notes, think out loud and in community with folks I’ve learned a great deal from over on that bird app. So, I thought I’d use this newsletter for doing a similar kind of thing. Every so often, not sure how frequently, I’ll post some notes from what I’m reading, offer a few connections to other stuff I’m thinking about. And, if everyone agrees to be kind, I’ll open one of those chat things and we can talk over there. Again, every so often. Occasionally. No pressure, on me or on you.

I’ll write about three things: race, the Internet and the far right, 2) learning to embody antiracism, and 3) my memoir. Mostly, these will be free and open to anyone who cares to read them. The memoir writing I’ll put behind a paywall.

Thanks for subscribing.
